She joined Deep Blue in 2020 as a principal consultant for aviation safety and human factors. She specialises in hazard analysis, Bow-Tie diagramming and Safety Case development for external clients. She has played a key role in training design and delivery – authoring and teaching human factors courses for ATSEPs (EUROCONTROL IANS) and airspace risk assessment methodology (UAS-SAF). Alexandra also manages the safety and human performance activities of SESAR research projects. Previously, she was Quality Manager, responsible for compliance with ISO 9001 standards. As an independent evaluator for the European Commission, she is involved in the evaluation of project proposals under Horizon Europe.
Nicola Cavagnetto
Senior consultant and trainer, Nicola Cavagnetto (M) holds a Master’s degree with distinction in Wellbeing Psychology: in empowerment, rehabilitation and positive technologies. His master’s thesis was on risk communication during the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on society. His studies allowed him to develop knowledge and skills in different areas of psychology – from immersive experiences in virtual environments, to the psychology of user experience, to environmental psychology – with a particular focus on action research. Nicola joined the Deep Blue team in 2021 as a consultant. His main work experience focuses on research and training activities in the areas of aviation, drones and mobility. In the areas of aviation and mobility, he is involved in research, testing and validation of AI-based tools, working from a Human Factors approach and framework. As an instructor, Nicola has experience in delivering Crew Resource Management (CRM) training to unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) operators and the Italian Fire Service, with a particular focus on Human Factors.
