Event Recap – 27 May, 2025
On May 27th, we welcomed 92 high-school students to take part in cybersecurity workshops. Experts from Coventry University Wrocław, in partnership with WCRS Wrocław, designed and led these sessions.
The students joined engaging sessions including:
- Technological Security (Mateusz Pękala)
- Resilience to Disinformation (Irina Tkeshelashvili, Team Europe)
- Responding to Online Hate Speech (Martyna Wilk, WCRS)
- Critical Thinking Skills (Weronika Kędzierska)
These workshops are part of the Project Cybersec EduCheck, an Erasmus+ funded initiative coordinated by Coventry University Research Institute Europe (Poland), the Creative for Business Association (Poland) and the European Center for Career Education (Czech Republic). The project aims to improve cybersecurity education practices in secondary schools by investigating the students’ and teachers’ awareness and needs in the field.

On the same day, we opened the exhibition “Civil Cyberdefense” as part of the 3rd edition of the Socially Responsible Digitization Conference. Between December 2024 and February 2025, students and local communities designed the posters now on display.
This exhibition is the result of thoughtful work and collaboration during workshops that brought together students, groups of local government officials, village leaders, social activists, migrants, and representatives of senior councils and clubs.
Some posters come from students in grades 4–8 in primary schools across Lower Silesia, who participated in the CYBER CHAT competition organized by the European Commission Representation in Poland, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Wrocław, and WCRS.
Participants had the opportunity to express their creativity and were supported by experts from GlobalLogic Poland, Coventry University Wrocław, Cyberliance, Lower Silesian University DSW, Team Europe Direct and WCRS Wrocław.
