On October 21st and 22nd, Coventry University Wrocław and the Coventry University Research Institute Europe, in collaboration with the UK Science and Technology Network in Poland, the British Embassy in Warsaw, the Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju (NCBR), and the Branżowe Punkty Kontaktowe of the Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz, hosted the Sustainable & Smart Mobility even, a dynamic initiative aligned with Cluster 5 of the Horizon Europe work programme.

Day 1: Knowledge sharing and system thinking

The event opened with a series of inspiring conferences and workshops led by renowned experts in the field of sustainable mobility and research innovation, including Stewart Birrell, Maria Smietenka, Karolina Janiak, Dr. Monika R., Witold Witowski, Vaughan Shilton, Tazdin Amietszajew, Marta Cudziło, and Grzegorz Stawicki.

In the evening, participants had the opportunity to take part in “Friday Night at the ER” an international simulation game designed to strengthen systems thinking and collaborative problem-solving. The session, facilitated by Piotr Semaniuk, offered participants a creative and engaging way to experience decision-making in complex systems.

Day 2: Building Networks and Research Opportunities

The second day focused on participants’ own projects and expertise. Each researcher and representative presented their research and development portfolio with the aim of identifying potential partners for upcoming Horizon Europe calls.

The matchmaking format encouraged open dialogue and collaboration across borders, fostering new partnerships in the field of sustainable and smart mobility.
