On September 26, Coventry University Wrocław took part in the “Professions of the Future” roundtable hosted by 3M in Wrocław. The event gathered experts from Amazon, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland, Mondelēz International, Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, Wałbrzyska Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna, and Instytut Badań Edukacyjnych. Together, they explored how vocational education in Poland can adapt to the needs of modern industry.
The central question was clear:
➡️ How vocational schools, local governments and companies support the development of technical qualifications for modern industry?
Our UK experience
At Coventry University in the UK, the apprenticeship model has been developed for many years. Designed in close cooperation with the industry, this approach combines theoretical courses and real workplace experience from day one. It ensures that students acquire the practical skills employers need.
The Polish version
Inspired by successful systems in Germany, France, and the UK, Coventry University Wrocław introduced the concept of “Edukacja wdrożeniowa”. This model reinforces the role of companies in co-designing and implementing vocational education programmes in Poland, helping align training with real market needs.
Looking ahead
The discussion highlighted both challenges and opportunities for technical education in Poland. Participants agreed that collaboration among schools, governments, and businesses is key to preparing a skilled workforce for the future.
At Coventry University Wrocław, we remain committed to fostering dialogue and sharing international experience to support the development of innovative models of vocational education in Poland.
